IPL Auction: 332 cricketers to go under the hammer on December 19

NEW DELHI: The list of 997 cricketers, who had registered for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) players' auction, has been pruned to 332 who will ignite a bidding battle between eight franchises in Kolkata on December 19.

Among the shortlisted players are 186 from India, 143 from overseas and three from the Associate Nations. The shortlist was prepared after the franchises submitted their respective list of preferred players in the auction pool.

The highest reserve base price is Rs 2 crore and the lowest Rs 50 lakh. The Indian player with the highest base price is Robin Uthappa, who is in the Rs 1.5 crore bracket. Piyush Chawla, Yusuf Pathan and Jaydev Unadkat are in the Rs 1 crore group.


All seven players in the Rs 2 crore bracket are from overseas. They are Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Chris Lynn, Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell from Australia; Dale Steyn from South Africa; and Angelo Mathews from Sri Lanka.
