Virat Kohli: "India captain: We're going to bowl first. There will be dew in 45 mins to one hour. It's a good wicket to bat on, and it's going to get better to bat with the ball coming on nicely. Chasing has been better for us to be honest. The data has to be taken into account, particularly when you win the toss, which is an uncontrollable. Shami and Bhuvi come back into the squad. Bhuvi has done well in this ground to be honest. At the international level we tend to overcomplicacte, and it's important to maintain the IPL mindset (on Pant). Samson, Pandey, Yadav and Shami miss out."
Keiron Pollard: "West Indies captain: The toss is 50-50, so we can't really control it. We just need to bat really well. It's important to ignore the outside noise, try to do the right things on the field and come out on top. We have a few young guys who have done well in the CPL. You don't want to put extra pressure on them, just do really well and express themselves in terms of their skills and fielding. Rutherford, Keemo Paul, Fabian Allen, Pooran, missing out today."
Team news: For India, Sanju Samson, Manish Pandey, Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami miss out from the series opener while Shane Rutherford, Keemo Paul, Fabian Allen, Nicholas Pooran sit out for West Indies.

Pitch Report: "A wonderful looking pitch, very placid. The pitch is so good, it's no wonder that this city has produced such good batsmen. A few cracks, but they won't open up much in 40 overs. A bit of turn and the ball will come on nicely so batting will be a real pleasure. India want to test themselves, and India want to begin on a winning note - they definitely prefer chasing, bowling when the dew is as less as possible. This is a dress rehearsal for the 2020 World Cup," said Sunil Gavaskar alongside Murali Kartik.
A stand named after former India skipper and current HCA president Mohammad Azharuddin is set to be unveiled today!
